Junipero Serra Peak

Overview

hike2.0adv

Junipero Serra Peak is the highest peak in the Santa Lucia Mountains. The upper sections offer great views, and the remote location gives you a sense of escape and adventure. Trail conditions are challenging with a long, strenuous climb up an unshaded ridge and several sections with dense brush. The trail can be difficult to follow, especially where it crosses overgrown streams and a charred forest just below the summit. Biting insects can be a nuisance, especially in spring and summer.
