Overview

hike2.5adv

This hike follows the Alcove Spring Trail from the north side of the Island in the Sky mesa down through Trail Canyon to its junction with Taylor Canyon. Along the way are a steep descent, tall beige-orange cliffs, a large natural alcove and a long walk down a meandering red wash. The wash ends near the impressive Zeus and Moses spires which can be explored if time and energy permit. Trail Canyon has nice red cliff walls but the wash can seem a bit long and the view doesn't change much along the way.
