Kukui Trail

USA> Hawaii> Kauai>

Overview

hike4.0int

This hike descends beautiful Waimea Canyon on the Kukui Trail from Kokee Road to the Waimea River. Along the way are stunning views of the intricately eroded canyon, lots of colorful geology, two different forest ecosystems and a chance to take a cooling dip in the river. There are a few steep and eroded spots but the trail is mostly in good shape. Go early if possible and bring plenty of water as it's often hot and there's a lot of elevation gain on the way back up.
