Overview

hike3.8int

This hike follows the Lost Palm Oasis trail in Joshua Tree National Park. You follow a singletrack trail over gently rolling desert terrain, past beige-orange boulders, across shallow washes and through an impressive variety of yucca, cactus, ocotillo and scrub trees. The highlight comes at the far point of the hike where the trail drops you into a small canyon oasis filled with California fan palms. On the way back it's worth detouring up to Mastodon Mountain for variety and views of the surrounding area.
