Keawaiki Anaeho'omalu

USA> Hawaii> Big Island>

Overview

hike3.0adv

This hike follows the coast from Keawaiki Bay to Anaeho'omalu Bay. Highlights include blue bays, green palms, white coral, black pebble beaches, gold-tinged ponds, tide pools and hours of crashing surf with coast views. There are a few private estates and easily accessed spots but most of the coast feels remote and uncrowded until you reach the resorts at A-Bay. The downside is you'll have to cross stretches of harsh a'a lava on rough trails. A good option is to loop back via the inland King's Highway.
