This loop hike starts off along a river in Devil's Gulch, climbs graded Bill's Trail through mixed forest up to the summit of Barnabe Peak, descends along an open ridge on the Barnabe fire road and finishes on the Gravesite Road. Along the way are pools frequented by young trout, lush conifer and deciduous forest and an optional side trip to Stairstep Falls. The summit and ridge descent offer good views of the surrounding Marin Hills.
