Wai'anae Ka'ala

USA> Hawaii> Oahu>

Overview

hike4.3adv

This hike takes you up a difficult and interesting climb to the summit of Ka'ala, the highest point on O'ahu. You warm up on a paved road then climb very steeply up to and along the top of a ridge with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. A technical section with cables climbs past dramatic cliffs to the summit plateau, where a boardwalk crosses a lush bog to a radar installation at the top. From the summit you can see the entire length of the Ko'olau Range all the way to Honolulu.
