Overview

hike3.3int

This popular hike climbs a well-maintained trail up Waihe'e Ridge to a high point on the east side of the West Maui Mountains. Along the way are mixed forest, windswept greenery and big views of distant summits ahead, dramatic Waihe'e River canyon below and the coast behind. The access road is sometimes closed, requiring some additional road walking to get to the trailhead.

Dogs

Are dogs allowed?

Turn left off the highway onto a paved road leading to Camp Maluhia, a Boy Scout camp. Almost immediately you'll come to a gate. If the gate is open, drive on up the road to the parking lot next to the Waihe'e Ridge trailhead. If the gate is locked, park in the dirt area just before the gate.
