This hike climbs through Three Fingers Canyon and a remote valley, then descends through Greasewood Draw and loops back along the east side of the San Rafael Reef. Along the way are towering cliffs, quiet valleys, nice views, lots of colorful geology and some impressive narrows. The return involves lots of route finding across a brown plateau filled with fragile cryptobiotic soil and cut through by many drainages.

A four wheel drive vehicle is required on the final spur road from Ranch Bypass Road to Three Fingers Canyon. You don't need high clearance as long as you're careful.
If you're driving a two wheel drive highway vehicle, park near the beginning of the final spur road and walk to the trailhead. This will add about 6 km (4 miles) of roundtrip distance to the hike.
