This hike follows an old dirt road across the Island in the Sky mesa to Murphy Point. The trail cuts in a straight line across mostly level terrain, making for easy going. There's not much to see along the way other than meadow, scrub and reddish soil. The payoff comes at the far end of the trail. From the rim at Murphy Point are panoramic views of the White Rim and Green River Basin with its many canyons.
