Kahana Valley

USA> Hawaii> Oahu>

Overview

hike2.5int

This hike follows the Nakoa Trail deep into Kahana Valley. You'll enjoy lush jungle, varied colorful vegetation, flowing streams, swimming holes, a partially shaded route and occasional peeks at the surrounding mountains. Be prepared for mosquitoes and lots of mud if it's been raining. Avoid crossing Kahana Stream if it's more than calf-deep. The route is mostly well signed but some junctions can be tricky. For a longer hike, continue deeper into Kahana Valley from the far southwest end of the loop.
