Pyramid Canyon

USA> Palm Springs> Mecca Hills>

Overview

hike3.0adv

This hike explores a canyon with a pyramid-shaped formation in the Mecca Hills. You start off up a wide wash with green scrub and contorted rock walls. Eventually the canyon narrows and you loop through two smaller forks, climbing over a ridge with good views of the Salton Sea and surrounding hills. The wash bottom is usually firm, making for easy going. Watch out for some steep, crumbly terrain while scrambling over the ridge. It's best to use GPS to navigate several unmarked forks in the canyon.
