This hike follows Honopu Ridge from Kokee Road to the Napali Coast. At first you descend on a rough trail through mixed forest, lush jungle and scratchy uluhe ferns. Then the trail follows an exciting ridge line above towering cliffs plunging into Honopu Valley. Toward the end the ridge becomes narrow and eroded, with fantastic views over the Napali Coast. Use caution as there are narrow, slippery spots above big drops. It's best to wear long pants and sleeves to negotiate the scratchy vegetation.

Park in one of 2 pullouts along the west side of the road. The hike begins from the back of the upper pullout.
This hike is best done early in the morning in dry conditions on a clear day. If it has rained recently the trail can get muddy, slippery and unpleasant. In cloudy conditions you might hike all the way to the lower ridge and miss out on the best views.
