Muddy Estero

USA> Bay Area> Point Reyes>

Overview

hike4.4adv

This hike loops from Muddy Hollow to Drake's Estero. Along the way are rolling terrain, deciduous forest, ridgetop meadows, grazing cattle, estuaries, marshes, remote beaches and continuous views of the Point Reyes National Seashore. You may see deer, rabbits, hawks, vultures, egrets, blue herons, pelicans, cormorants, crabs and sea otters. The highlight is a scramble along wild coastline from Sunset Beach to Drake's Head. Check the tide conditions as this may be unsafe or impassable at high water.
