Overview

hike3.3adv

This hike loops from Squaw Flat through Lost Canyon and Squaw Canyon. Along the way are broad meadows, sandstone plazas, natural potholes, desert scrub, cottonwood-filled canyons, complex erosional forms and occasional views. The highlight is crossing two colorful slickrock ridges with impressive cliffs, towering spires and views of the surrounding area. Lost Canyon is less visited than other parts of The Needles, offering peace and quiet. Keep an eye out for occasional patches of poison oak.
