Five Peaks of Diablo

USA> Bay Area> East Bay>

Overview

hike4.4adv

This rewarding hike climbs five peaks in a grand loop around the north side of Mt Diablo State Park. Along the way are dirt roads, oak meadows, steep climbs, sugar pines, singletrack trails, chaparral, cliffs and ridges. The highlight is frequent views of the surrounding mountains, canyons and cities. The hike is long and physically demanding. Water and snacks are available at the summit lookout. The trails are well marked and in good shape. Keep an eye out for poison oak and some steep, crumbly spots.
