Overview

hike3.0adv

This hike loops around Wailupe Valley via the Ko'olau Summit. You start off in dryland forest along the valley bottom, then climb steeply up Wailupe Ridge through guava trees and uluhe jungle. Next you follow the narrow Ko'olau Summit Trail above towering cliffs, with panoramic windward views. Finally you descend the Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail, watching for a subtle junction where a faint trail drops steeply back to the valley floor. Most of the route is lightly traveled, providing a fun sense of adventure.
