Berkeley Skyline

USA> Bay Area> East Bay>

Overview

hike4.0int

This hike climbs from downtown Berkeley up Skyline Ridge to the Grizzly Peak Lookout. Along the way are city streets, a historic university campus, manicured walkways, narrow stairs, steep fire roads, conifer trees, and a long rolling climb up an open ridge above a forested canyon. Skyline Ridge and the Lookout offer panoramic views of Berkeley and the San Francisco Bay. Pace yourself on the way up the ridge which gets famously steep in places. For a longer hike, continue into Tilden Regional Park.
