Malaekahana Pools

USA> Hawaii> Oahu>

Overview

hike3.0int

This hike climbs from Laie to Malaekahana Pools. You start off on dirt roads under mixed canopy, around cultivated fields and through muddy spots. Next you climb a rolling ridge with ironwood, guava, uluhe, steep climbs and frequent views of the coast. Finally a rough, steep descent leads to a junction at a river bottom. A short scramble upstream leads to the smaller, secluded upper pool. Downstream you'll find the lager lower pool with a scenic waterfall and the option of a refreshing dip.
