Pia Valley

Overview

hike2.5int

This hike explores Pia Valley and climbs to its adjacent ridge tops. You start off on a well-defined trail under lush jungle, paralleling and crossing the boulder-filled stream. From a first junction at a patch of red soil, a side trail climbs steeply to an ironwood grove atop Kulepeamoa Ridge. From a second junction further up the canyon past stone ruins, a faint side trail climbs steeply through guava to the top of Hawai'iloa Ridge. Beyond this the trail fades away at a rocky pour-off and occasional pool.
