Moalepe Trail

USA> Hawaii> Kauai>

Overview

hike3.8int

This hike follows the Moalepe Trail into the hills above Wailua. You start off on a dirt road between farm fields and scattered trees. As you climb gradually into the foothills, the vegetation turns to fern jungle and mixed forest. There are views of the Makaleha Mountains looming above to the right. Eventually the trail narrows to single track and ends at a wooden bridge. The trail is well maintained and a popular workout route. For a longer hike, continue past the wood bridge onto the Kuilau Ridge Trail.
