'Awa'awapuhi Ridge

USA> Hawaii> Kauai>

Overview

hike3.5int

This hike follows the Awa'awapuhi Trail from Koke'e Road to a spectacular overlook of the Napali Coast. The trail passes through mixed forest and jungle and is in pretty good shape except during wet conditions when there are frequent mud bogs. There isn't much to see until the trail ends at a dizzying overlook of Nu'alolo and Awa'awapuhi Valleys plunging far below. It's possible to continue a short distance past the guardrail but don't go unless you're sure you can safely negotiate the dangerous exposure.
