Rose Peak from Sunol Valley

USA> Bay Area> East Bay>

Overview

hike3.7exp

This challenging hike climbs through Sunol and Ohlone Regional Wildernesses to Rose Peak. Along the way are deciduous forest, rivers, meadows, grazing cattle, valleys, ridges and lots of sustained climbing. The prominent summit offers panoramic views over the surrounding area. The hike is long and physically demanding so bring plenty of food and water. Best done in the spring for cooler temperatures and blooming wildflowers. In wet conditions the trail can become muddy, messy and unpleasant.
