Big Rock Ridge

USA> Bay Area> Marin County>

Overview

hike4.1adv

This satisfying hike climbs the east end of Big Rock Ridge to the second highest summit in Marin County. You cross four Open Space Preserves on well groomed fire roads. The first half climbs through sparse oak forest with partial shade. The second half follows a dramatic open ridge top above grassy slopes with continuous views. The summit offers a 360 degree panorama of the North Bay. There are a lot of steep ups and downs and temperatures can really climb during warmer months so bring plenty of water.
