This pleasant hike climbs Kamilo Iki Ridge to the Ko'olau Summit. You climb gradually along a well-defined ridge top transitioning from dryland scrub to temperate forest. There are continuous views over the adjacent valleys and a satisfying windward panorama from the top. The trail is unmaintained but generally in good shape and mostly easy to follow. Some route finding may be required at the very beginning and just before the final climb where you cross a patch of head-high buffalo grass.
