Overview

hike3.5adv

This challenging hike climbs the Guadalupe Trail from La Quinta Cove to Pinyon Pines. You'll enjoy big views, dramatic desert terrain, colorful canyons, quiet backcountry, cactus patches, changing vegetation and historical sites. Challenges include long distance, sustained climbs and tricky navigation in spots where the trail becomes vague. It's best to start early, pack plenty of water and food, and use GPS to stay on track. For an even bigger adventure, add a side trip to the summit of Martinez Mountain.
