Overview

hike2.8int

This hike climbs the lower half of Launiupoko Valley. You start off on an equestrian trail across rolling foothills with views over the West Maui coast. After reaching picnic tables at a small reservoir, you follow a dirt road up the canyon with lush forest and steeply rising walls. Finally you follow a rough singletrack trail through overgrown jungle, paralleling a water pipe to its upper end at the canyon bottom. There are ancient Hawaiian ruins to the left of the road shortly past the reservoir.
