This hike makes a grand loop from Cathedral City through Palm Canyon and back over Murray Hill. Along the way are dirt roads, steep climbs, canyon views, open desert backcountry, singletrack trails, lush palm groves, a running stream, sandy washes, dramatic switchbacks and a long descent finish. The satisfying summit offers picnic tables and panoramic views of Coachella Valley and the San Jacinto Mountains. There isn't much shade so cooler mornings are best. A network of trails allows for shorter hikes.
