Waiakeakua Ridge to Kolowalu

USA> Hawaii> Oahu>

Overview

hike3.0adv

This hike visits Waiakeakua Falls, climbs to the Ko'olau Summit then descends via Wa'ahila Ridge and the Kolowalu trail. Along the way are rough and rooty trails, mixed forest, lush jungle, a running stream, steep climbs and descents and a side trip to Mount Olympus. Highlights include the 50 ft (15 m) waterfall and panoramic clifftop views from an exciting ridgetop. Use caution and test all ropes if you decide to climb the falls. A steep, slippery, overgrown bypass to the left may be a safer bet.
