Ka'au Crater

USA> Hawaii> Oahu>

Overview

hike4.2int

This rewarding hike loops around Ka'au Crater. You start off climbing a valley through lush jungle, past two waterfalls and up alongside a steep cascade. Next you follow the crater rim, looping up over the Ko'olau Summit and back down around the opposite side. Finally you descend a ridge under guava trees back to the starting point. The upper portions offer panoramic views over the crater and both sides of the island. Overall, this hike packs a lot of features and variety into a relatively short distance.
