Overview

hike3.6int

This hike explores Point San Pablo. It's a little short on natural beauty but long on historic and geographic interest. You walk on lightly-traveled paved and dirt roads through a WWII era navy fuel depot. You'll see abandoned buildings, a small harbor with houseboats, wild bayshore and good views of famous landmarks from unfamiliar perspectives. An optional extension follows unofficial trails from Point Molate Beach around Castro Point to the foot of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Use your judgment.
