Mahinepua Peninsula

New Zealand>

Overview

hike4.0int

This rewarding hike covers the Mahinepua Peninsula Track. You follow a well-maintained trail along the top of a beautiful ridge that juts out into the ocean. You'll enjoy frequent views, dramatic terrain, coves, beaches, islands and mixed vegetation. The official trail ends at a trig overlooking Omiru Bay. Advanced hikers can continue past the trig to explore the shoreline around Pakuru Point. You'll face narrow eroded spots, scratchy overgrowth and steep terrain but it's doable as long as you're careful.
