Elliot Whangamumu

New Zealand>

Overview

hike4.5adv

This hike follows the shoreline from Elliot Bay to the Whangamumu Peninsula. Beginner hikers will enjoy pristine beaches, small islands, sea arches, rocky crags, grassy slopes, short climbs, forested hilltops, ancient pā sites and frequent coast views. Advanced hikers can continue from Umuheke Bay out onto the peninsula. Be prepared for obscure trails, unmarked junctions, overgrown vegetation and steep terrain. In return you'll get even better views and an exciting walk along the top of a narrow isthmus.
