Te Henga Walkway

New Zealand>

Overview

hike3.3adv

This hike follows the Te Henga Walkway from Muriwai to Bethells Beach. Along the way are wooden stairways, farm fields, long bluff traverses, dramatic cliffs, rocky coves, sea stacks, mixed vegetation and lots of ups and downs. The highlight is frequent views of the beautiful coast. Portions of the trail can get unpleasantly muddy when wet. A good option when starting from Muriwai is to turn around at the overlook above O'neill Bay, avoiding the climb back up from Bethells Beach.
