Hahaione Pyramid

USA> Hawaii> Oahu>

Overview

hike4.0adv

This interesting hike loops over the Ko'olau Summit from Hahaione Valley. You start off climbing steeply up a faint trail through ironwood and shrub jungle, eventually topping out on the Hahaione Pyramid. Next you work your way west along the KST, scrambling past eroded and overgrown spots. Finally you follow the Hahaione Trail down Mauna Oahi Ridge through ferns and dryland forest. The summit offers 360 degree views over both sides of the island. Use caution at several spots with vertical exposure.

Park near the upper end of Hahaione St. The hike begins by walking past the end of the pavement onto an unmarked singletrack trail.

Please be respectful of residents who live near the trailhead. Ideally, park some distance away from the end of the road and walk quietly into the woods.
