Overview

hike3.8exp

This challenging hike climbs Rose Peak from Del Valle Regional Park. You follow the eastern half of the Ohlone Wilderness Trail through lush canyons and over oak-studded ridges to one of the higher summits in Alameda County. The upper portions offer big, satisfying views. The route is mostly dirt roads, allowing for a good pace. The challenge comes from frequent steep climbs and cumulative elevation gain. Avoid going on hot days, watch out for poison oak and pay attention at the many signed junctions.
