Scarpet Peak

Overview

hike3.9adv

This hike climbs Scarpet Peak from El Granada. You first climb through lush ridgetop shrublands in Rancho Corral de Tierra, then switch to dirt roads that contour through conifer forest below the crest. The summit is fenced off and under tree cover but most of the route offers satisfying coast views on clear days. Keep an eye out for wildflowers and poison oak in the lower portions. You could loop back along the crest but this would involve crossing into SF Water District lands. Use your judgment.
