Overview

hike2.5adv

This hike covers the Hayward Bayshore along the SF Bay Trail. You follow gravel and hard pack bike paths along mostly-undeveloped shoreline past wetlands, creek outlets, reclaimed salt ponds and pockets of landfill. You'll enjoy small bridges, shorebirds, salt marshes, peace and quiet and continuous Bay views. Eventually you reach the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center which offers bench seating and restrooms. Access points with parking at both ends and in the middle allow for shorter hikes if desired.
