Las Trampas from Elworthy Staging

USA> Bay Area> East Bay>

Overview

hike4.1adv

This hike climbs the entire length of Las Trampas Ridge from Elworthy Staging Area to Las Trampas Peak. It's a long, mostly-easy walk on fire roads and singletrack trails through grasslands and scattered oak transitioning gradually to chaparral and forest. You'll enjoy big open spaces, interesting ridgetop terrain and frequent views over the surrounding area. The hike starts with a steep 30-minute climb but don't give up: the trail levels off and becomes much more enjoyable once you reach the ridgetop.
