Johnson's Up On Top

USA> Moab> Moab Valley>

Overview

hike3.0adv

This hike climbs the length of Johnson's Up On Top, a mesa on the east side of Moab Valley. You start off climbing the north end on vague foot trails through orange sandstone gullies. Once on top, a network of jeep roads lead southeast through green scrub backed by the La Sal Mountains. Eventually the mesa tapers to a narrow ridge with views of Ken's Lake and Mill Creek Canyon. The roads are a bit monotonous but make for a good workout. For a shorter hike, access the middle of the mesa from Holladay Ave.
