Top Shelf

USA> Moab> Moab Valley>

Overview

hike3.5adv

This hike explores a narrow shelf along the rim of Moab Valley. You start off on the popular Hidden Valley route but soon turn off trail and climb to an even higher plateau. This "top shelf" has the feel of a small canyon with orange sandstone walls and a scrub-meadow floor that turns lush green with rain. Take care to stay on the existing faint trails and minimize your impact on this fragile, seldom-visited area. With route finding and careful scrambling it's possible to loop back via the valley floor.
