Overview

hike3.8adv

This hike traces a double loop through Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve. Features include open hilltops, steep flanks, green valleys, oak groves, broad meadows, wildflowers, grazing cattle and historic farm buildings. The Maguire Peaks loop offers an optional summit spur, dramatic terrain and commanding views of the surrounding area out to Castro Valley and Mount Diablo. A network of trails allows for shorter hikes if desired. Use a map to help with the many junctions and keep an eye out for poison oak.
