This hike loops along the Ulupaina Trail through the hills above Ahuimanu. You'll enjoy pretty, mixed jungle and interesting ridgetop terrain. The route is mostly covered but the high point on the ridge offers views of the cliffs above and the valley below. Take the loop counterclockwise - you'll climb early and have a nice flat finish. Stay on the main trail at several junctions - signs and ribbons point the way. You may encounter steep, slippery spots along the ridge and muddy spots on the way back.
