King Baltimore

USA> Bay Area> Marin County>

Overview

hike4.5adv

This satisfying hike loops through the King Mountain and Baltimore Canyon Open Space Preserves. You'll enjoy single track trails, shady canyons, redwoods, deciduous forest, ferns, chaparral, Dawn Falls and periodic views from the flanks of Mt Tamalpais. There are a few steep climbs but the slopes are mostly gradual and the return is all downhill. The Falls may be dry unless it has rained recently. You can extend the hike up to the summit of Tam, or shorten it by turning back from Blithedale Ridge.

There is often street parking available on Willow Ave near the beginning of Clifton Fire Road. Please be considerate of the locals on this quiet residential street.

Alternatively, you could park anywhere near downtown Larkspur since the route loops back along Magnolia Ave from Baltimore Canyon.
