Overview

hike3.8int

This hike climbs the Maynard Mine trail to an abandoned mine site perched high above Andreas Canyon. It's a strenuous climb up a steep ridge on rough and rocky switchbacks. You'll enjoy colorful geology and great views of the mountains above, canyons below and city behind. Most can reach the signed high point of the trail in 90-120 minutes. This is a good spot to take a break and head back. Beyond this, the trail drops steeply to the small mine ruins, then you have to turn around and climb right back up.
