Bride's Canyon Rim

USA> Moab> Moab North>

Overview

hike4.0adv

This rewarding hike explores the wild rim of Bride's Canyon. You'll enjoy hours of fun exploration with continuous views, dramatic cliffs, colorful terrain and convoluted erosional forms. Navigating the maze-like west rim is a bit tricky and involves vertical exposure, but with persistence and careful scrambling you can reach a satisfying spot directly above Ottinger Arch and a tall spire named The Bride. Afterward, a short climb leads up to the north tip of Gold Bar Rim with great views over Moab Valley.

Getting there

Planning your trip

To keep the hike to a manageable length you'll want to drive Gemini Bridges Road at least as far as the turnoff for Bride's Canyon. Gemini Bridges is a well-maintained jeep road with some steep, narrow and gravelly spots so it's best to have at least an all-wheel-drive vehicle with moderate ground clearance. Park just off the side of the road somewhere between the turnoff and Gooney Bird Rock.

Alternatively, if you have a 4WD vehicle that can handle deep sand you could shorten the hike by driving further to the point where Gold Bar Rim Safari Route meets the Goldbar mountain bike trail.
