This hike loops around Redwood Shores on the San Francisco Bay Trail. You'll enjoy Bay views, marshes, tidal channels, egrets, great blue herons, wooden boardwalks, viewing platforms, manicured lawns, picnic spots and a pedestrian bridge. Overall it's a pleasant, aerobic walk on groomed trails across level terrain. Most of the route passes near office buildings and suburban neighborhoods but the area feels mostly open and peaceful. There's occasional shade but you'll want sun protection on longer outings.
