Sevenmile Rim

USA> Moab> Moab North>

Overview

hike3.5adv

This hike follows the Sevenmile Rim jeep road then loops back across Courthouse Pasture. The road parallels the rim but mostly at a distance - it's more fun to work your way off-trail along the wild edge. You'll enjoy hours of lofty white rim with continuous views above dramatic sandstone cliffs. A 10 minute side trip leads from the rim to Uranium Arch. The return across the pasture can be hot and monotonous but you'll enjoy views of nearby Monitor and Merrimack Buttes. Bring plenty of water on warm days.

Cotter Mine Road is usually well maintained and suitable for 2WD vehicles with reasonable ground clearance as long as you keep an eye out for occasional bumps. There's one steep, rough slope with loose pebbles where some may prefer to have 4WD.
