Bartlett Tusher Rimlands

USA> Moab> Bartlett>

Overview

hike4.0adv

This rewarding hike explores a mesa between Bartlett and Tusher Canyons. You'll enjoy hours along a lofty rim, white sandstone humps, dramatic clifftop terrain and continuous views overlooking colorful slickrock canyons. There's no trail so you can explore as much or as little of the mesa as desired. Navigating across the convoluted humps makes for slow going but can be fun if you enjoy route finding. Take care to leave no trace in this pristine area, detouring around occasional patches of fragile soils.

Getting there

Planning your trip

open accessdogs welcomemar - nov4WD vehicle

The hike starts where a spur road ends at the north end of the white sandstone mesa. If you have a high clearance vehicle such as a Jeep Wrangler you can drive this short spur road right to the trailhead.

If you don't have high clearance, a highway vehicle with 4WD such as a Subaru should be able to reach the junction where the spur forks off from the the popular road to Tusher Tunnel. Walking the spur road would add 0.45 miles (0.7 km) roundtrip to the hike.
