Big Split - Right Fork East

USA> Palm Springs> Mecca Hills>

Overview

hike4.0adv

This hike explores the east half of the right fork of Big Split Rock Canyon. Highlights include hours of twisting canyons, exciting slots, colorful geology and a fun sense of exploration through a branching labyrinth. There's no set route - explore as many branches as you like. Many branches are dead ends, but some allow climbing up to ridge tops with Salton Sea views. Navigation can be tricky, but as long as you don't exit the canyons you can head downhill from any branch to end up back where you started.
